come to Spain to be wined and dined like never before

We're Vicky and Dennis from Kentucky and we traveled to Spain with Rick Steves (RS) My Way to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.  Probably like you, always ready to travel and our Silver Anniversary was a great reason to take a trip!  But, to be honest, we think Groundhog Day is a good enough reason to go exploring this wonderful world of ours.  Since we went to Spain six months before our anniversary, my husband has teased me that I'll want to celebrate again. Boy, I guess after 25 years, he's  figured me out by now!

We seem to be particularly drawn to Europe for its history, architecture, food, people and landscape. We are now up to 15 European countries ... and counting.  Let me share with you that in the past, we typically avoided organized tours since I enjoy planning our next adventure, but our 25th Wedding Anniversary called for some R & R.  Turns out that Rick Steves My Way proved to be just what we needed.  They took care of our wonderful accommodations which were always perfectly located. The transportation was roomy with our small group size and best part of the trip was getting to know some really wonderful people that we were travelling with. We could be walking in a large city like Madrid and run into our new friends like we were back home.

Great Adventures

This is a great place to tell your story and give people more insight into who you are, what you do, and why it’s all about you.

Lie Ahead

We made a point to come in a day early before the tour started and also stayed an extra 3 days at the end of the RS  tour.  Getting that extra day before the tour is great to get acclimated to the time difference and Barcelona is a great city to explore in. As recommended by RS, we stayed our first night at the NH Barcelona Centro hotel and asked the hotel to let us keep the same RS room to avoid moving.

We discovered how welcoming Barcelona was in just a matter of minutes of walking around the city.  Like many travelers, you don't know where to go when in a new place.  Never one to be shy, we asked for directions from another tourist and not only did she give us directions to our hotel, but she personally walked us several blocks to our door using the Maps.me App which was a new one for me, but proved to be helpful for the rest of the tour.

Come join us on our Spain adventure and we hope you enjoy our scrapbook.
